Advisory Board

We have a phenomenal advisory board made up of researchers and community members with ties to the region and the topic of research:

  • Jill Malin, LGBTQ activist and business owner based in the Marquette area of the Upper Peninsula
  • Kedzie Stark, LGBTQ activist and artist based in the Marquette area of the Upper Peninsula
  • Libby Hemphill, Associate Professor and Director of the Resource Center for Minority Data at the University of Michigan who researches how people use social media to organize, discuss, and enact social change
  • Mary Gray, Senior Researcher at Microsoft Research and Associate Professor at Indian University who researches people’s everyday uses of technologies, particularly among people with limited or marginalized access to digital media and the internet
  • Rhiannon Riley, LGBTQ activist and community member based in the Houghton area of the Upper Peninsula
  • Tawanna Dillahunt, Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan who researches, designs, and builds technology in and for underserved communities
