What does the future of social technology look like for LGBTQ people? How can it be designed to be inclusive of those of us living in rural places? How do we help community organizations work better for their LGBTQ constituents?

The LGBTQ Futures Project is a collaborative and community-based research project that seeks to answer these questions and understand how LGBTQ people in rural and remote locales experience community and technology. To do this, we use participatory design to elicit and understand the experiences of LGBTQ people across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
